What makes a great portrait? You get a great portrait when six things occur simultaneously:
- A fun portrait session
The best portraits are made when people are relaxed, and you're most relaxed when you're having fun.
- A comfortable environment
This goes back to that "relaxed" thing again. If you're at home or in a favorite place then you're more relaxed. There's also the added benefit of the portrait including the place as well as the people. Show the beauty of your home in the portrait (or your yard or a nearby park).
- No Deadline
At least no deadline for the photographer – you're welcome to have a deadline of your own. But the last thing you want is to feel like you're being rushed during a portrait session. It will show in the portrait.
- A good photographer
A photographer who talks to you as a person while quietly handling all of the technical details that ensure a great photograph. Someone who can make you smile, and make your daughter feel like royalty and your son feel like a sports hero (or vice versa).
- A forgiving portrait process
The larger the group, the more likely it is that a few people in the group won't look their best in any given image (different people in different images). You don't want to have to settle for an image that's the best compromise. You want the photographer to be able to merge the best parts of multiple images to put together a group portrait of everyone at their best. I do that, and it's included in the price of a large framed art print.
- A beautiful, high-quality result
A framed image on canvas that's exactly the type of portrait you want: Realistic or dream-like. Sharp focus or painting-like. Color, black & white, sepia, or a combination. Small enough for a locket, or big enough to hang over your fireplace. A frame that will fit with the decor of your home or office.
If this list sounds like what you want out of a portrait, then give me a call. I do all of my portrait work at your home or at your favorite metro Atlanta location. I have years of experience, and I can give you a photographic portrait in any style you like.
I love taking photographs of happy people, so let me make you happy with a portrait that you'll cherish for the rest of your life.
