My usual portrait sessions are carefully planned. I visit the session location in advance to plan out the best way to accomplish my client's portrait goals and to take best advantage of the background I'm given. When I come back for the photo session I bring lots of lighting equipment to create a studio on location. I spend a lot of time giving you the very best. And that's why my usual portrait sessions are more expensive (although they're worth every penny).
A "Quick Portrait" is different. There's no advance scouting trip. We meet in a park close to Duluth (Brook Run Park in Dunwoody, Thrasher Park in Norcross or the Town Green in Duluth are good choices, but I'm open to your suggestions), or at your home if you're within 10 miles of Duluth. More than 10 miles away? See the note in my detailed pricing.
I bring a few lights, but not nearly as much equipment as I bring to my usual portrait session. I spend no more than 15 minutes setting up, then we spend about 30 - 60 minutes or so taking photographs. Then I return to my office and put your photographs on my web site for you to select and order.
The Quick Portrait takes less time,
but for most people the result is just as good as my usual portrait. It's more spontaneous, less "staged" and maybe more fun.
And it saves you money.
The portrait session costs $150 $99 for the next 5 clients on weekdays or $200 $149 for the next 5 clients on weekends (compared to $400 for my usual session), and then you order your prints online at very reasonable rates. Rates like 30¢ (yes, that's 30 cents) per print for a 4x6, $1.75 for a 5x7, and $4.50 for an 8x10. You can also download low-resolution 1200x800 pixel images for free. You might expect this kind of pricing at a mall, but it's a fantastic bargain when the photos are being taken by a professional photographer.
Buy as many prints as you like or as few as you want. Buy mugs, T-shirts, puzzles, buttons, tote bags, all kinds of other stuff with your picture on them. Have fun, use the photos to make your friends and relatives happy. Enjoy your images.
A Quick Portrait is fun!
It's fun to be a model. Bring other members of your family so they can have fun too (Extend the session if you need the time). Get wonderful prints, and they're inexpensive enough to send to all your friends and relatives. What else can I say? It's quick, it's easy, it's done at a convenient location, and now for a limited time it's inexpensive too!
