Great Pictures

I'll give you great pictures, building on my many years of experience as a portrait and wedding photographer. And you can count on me being in the right place at the right time to capture the best possible images – I even go to the wedding rehearsal (at no additional charge to you) to get a better understanding of your particular wedding, to pick the best camera angles, and to meet your wedding coordinator.

Frequently Asked Questions

Question: Why are your pictures so great?

Answer: There are five reasons:

  1. I use only the best equipment: Canon professional digital cameras, lenses, and multiple on- and off-camera flash units. I also use professional studio lighting on lightstands for the formal shots at the front of the church.

  2. I've become proficient enough in the use of my camera and lighting equipment that I deal with different lighting situations almost automatically. That proficiency only comes from thousands of hours of taking photographs under widely varying conditions.

  3. Because the technical part of photography is pretty much automatic for me, I can concentrate 100% of my effort on watching for magic moments and capturing those moments in images.

  4. I've done so much wedding photography that I can anticipate when and where those magic moments will occur, so I'm ready for them when they happen. Being ready allows me to capture moments that other photographers might miss.

  5. As I say on my home page, ""The best wedding photographs come from the heart, not from the camera. They capture the essence of each moment and freeze it in time forever. " During a wedding, both my mind and my heart are focused on your wedding joy.

Question: How many pictures will I get?

Answer: Typically 100 - 200 photos per photographer per hour of coverage. So if I provide six hours of photographic coverage for a medium-sized wedding, then you'll get 600 - 1200 photos. The actual number depends on what's happening at any point in time. If there's more going on, then I'll take more photos.

But remember that it's not the quantity that counts -- it's the quality.

Question: Do you retouch images?

Answer: All images are individually color corrected, adjusted for brightness and contrast, and cropped for optimum presentation of the image subject. Some outstanding images are retouched to achieve their full potential. Cosmetic retouching is available at extra cost on an image-by-image basis.
