Affordable Pricing

Save money without compromising on quality!
A key part of planning a wedding is deciding where to save and where to go all out. You want great wedding photographs and a dazzling album, but you might prefer to spend more money on other aspects of the wedding. I recognize the problem, and I make it easy on you by providing great photographs and a wonderful album at a very reasonable price. Not only that, but I do two things no other wedding photographer does: I let you download photos for free, and I let you order prints at the low prices you might expect from a drugstore (click here to learn more)! Now your aunts and uncles and cousins and friends can afford to order as many wedding pictures as they like.

For a description of how to use this table, see below. When comparing these prices to other alternatives, remember that from me you'll get inexpensive prints (as low as 30 cents for a 4x6) and free downloads of small images. You won't get that with other wedding photographers. Click here to learn more, or click here to see a discussion of ways that wedding photographers do pricing.
Price is slightly higher if you want more than one album, a larger album, or an album with more pages. See the album pricing information. Note: these prices assume you pay in full one month prior to the wedding, and that a portion of the 10% prepayment credit is applied toward the price. For more about the prepayment credit, see my detailed pricing information.

Using the Table: Estimating the Total Cost of Wedding Photography

I've found that for most wedding photography there are three questions that need to be answered:

1. The length of the photographic coverage. To find this number, add the time required for:

  • Photography before the ceremony. Generally 2 hours if the bride and groom don't plan to see each other before the ceremony. Longer if you do.
  • The ceremony itself. 1/2 hour for most weddings, but sometimes as long as an hour or more
  • Formal group shots. 1/2 hour or more
  • Transportation to the reception. Often zero if the reception is in the same location as the ceremony, but if the reception is elsewhere then transportation time has to be included
  • The reception. Usually at least an hour, but longer if there's a sit-down meal or if there's dancing or entertainment
  • Any extra posed bride and groom images you might want. Romantic shots, poses in front of the setting sun, etc. If you like, you can steal this time away from the reception time.

For a more detailed explanation of the four sizes of wedding I list in the table, click here.

2. The album. Do you want one? If so, then price depends on page size, number of pages, and number of albums you want.

3. Full-size images on DVD. Do you want full-size images? Some people want them, while others are content to download smaller images or order prints.

There are other decisions you can make that affect price, but most of my clients can get a pretty good idea of how much their wedding photography will cost by answering those three questions.

If you have a rough idea about the answers, you can estimate the cost of wedding photography using the chart above. Pick a row based on the wedding size (question 1), then go across to the column that reflects your interest in an album (question 2) and/or DVD (question 3). The number in that column is an estimated total price of wedding photography.

So, for example, if you have a small wedding, and you want both a 20-page album and a DVD of images, your total price is $1499. And if you have a small wedding and you don't want an album or a DVD, then the total price is $749.

Financially Challenged? Consider Layaway

If these prices seem too high for your budget, consider a Layaway plan. Pay for the photographic coverage now, and you'll see all of your photos on the Internet, you can download small images for free, and you and your friends can buy inexpensive small prints. I'll store all of your original full-size images on a disk in a bank vault, and you can buy an album or a DVD-R of full-size images later when you can afford it.

Don't compromise on image quality! Even if you can't afford an album or DVD right now, don't try to "economize" by hiring a lower quality photographer. Go with a photographer you can trust to deliver the best possible photographs.
